Fourth, applicants can propose social change initiatives through performing arts, using theater, music, dance, or other performance-based approaches to engage communities on issues such as gender-based violence, LGBTI and minority rights, freedom of speech, and transparency and accountability. Fifth, proposals may focus on youth and women empowerment, especially efforts that raise incomes, expand participation in STEM education, create jobs, and improve livelihoods for women and young people.
Funding is relatively small and competitive, with an award ceiling of $24,500 and an anticipated total of about five awards. The application window runs through the final closing date of May 31, 2020, but the Embassy reviews and makes awards on a rolling basis as proposals are received, so earlier submission is strongly encouraged.
